History of AutoMax

AutoMax is a family-owned dealership that was started in March of 1989 by two brothers, Phillip and Curtis White. They opened their first car lot after building a successful tire and wheel business in Henderson, North Carolina. A lot has changed over the decades that AutoMax has been offering great pre-owned vehicles at our buy here pay here auto dealerships, but the one thing that hasn't changed is our company's roots. We're still based right here in Henderson, NC, and 80% of our team members live or work in Vance County. You can still find us in that same building on the same downtown corner that we occupied way back 25 plus years ago. AutoMax is now owned and operated by the second-generation Mike, Allen and Jeff. They share the passion, just like their fathers, for selling and financing reliable pre-owned vehicles to people all over the central North Carolina. Over the years, we expanded to a second location in Youngsville. We now proudly service customers in Wake, Durham, Orange, Franklin, Vance, Granville, Person, Nash, Johnston, Warren and Halifax counties.

In the 80s and 90s it was often called "In-House Financing" or "Tote the Note".
